Phenology July and August, attracted to light.

Description Attractive moth, with orange or pinkish forewings, crossed by a black wavy line and squiggles .

Life Cycle The caterpillars feed on lichens growing on trees, including dog lichen (Peltigera canina).

Habitat Woodland habitat in the southern half of Britain, but is commonest in the southern coastal counties.
