Family Geometridae: Geometrinae

Wingspan .24-27 mm.

Flight period June and July dusk onwards around woodlands

Descripttion

Mainly a southern species whicj has a characteristic shape , with chequered fringes, an easy species to identify , but like many of the green moths, colour tends to fade quickly.

Life Cycle Hawthorn (Crataegus), blackthorn (Prunus spinosa) and other trees and bushes are the preferred larval foodplants
