Perennial of shady woods. Native to Wales, SW England and Ireland; naturalised as a garden escape elsewhere. Leaves pinnately divided and stalked. Flowers are 50 to 80mm across and comprise four overlapping, yellow petals; appear June to August. Height up to 50cm
