Description

The leaves form a rosette at the base of the plant, with a few leaves also on the flowering stem. The basal leaves are green to slightly purplish in colour, 1.5–5 cm long and 2–10 mm broad, with an entire to coarsely serrated margin; Stem-leaves few, unstalked but not clasping stemwith an entire margin. Surface of base-leaves covered with pimples that each have a hair in - small unicellular hairs. Flower diameter c 2-4 mm. Flowers May to June. Fruit Pods 10-18 mm

Similar Plants

Shepherd'spurse/ Shepherd's Cress. These can be distinguished from Thale Cress by their flattened triangular- or spoon-shaped fruit capsules respectively

 

Habitat

Arable field margins, horticultural land, walls, waste ground, tracks.Common as a street weed, much less common in natural rocky places.
