Family: Dipsacaceae ( Scabious family)

Robust, hairy biennial or perennial of dry grassland. Widespread and common but absent from N Scotland. Spoon-shaped, lobed basal leaves form rosette; those on stem are less divided. Bluish violet flower heads, 30 to 40mm across, seen June to October.Height up to 75cm
