Widespread biennial of grassy places, locally common and native in England and Wales but scarce and introduced elsewhere. Leaves comprise three oblong leaflets. Yellow flowers borne in tall spikes and appear June to September. Ripe pods brown. Height up to 1.5m, Bare and waste ground.
