Description

Flowers in umbellate clusters in leaf axils and at the stem end. Flowers are violet , aprox 1 cm across, with 5 lobes usually folded back. Stem becomes woody , is erect or ascending , leaves long , ovate glabrous, often deeply lobed.Grows in damp soil rich in nutrients. Woodland , Fen and Shingle Beaches and Wastte Ground. Height of growth 30 - 300 cm. Flowers June - August
