Boraginaceae (Borage family)

Roughly hairy perennial of hedgerows and roadside verges. Widely naturalised as a garden escape and commonest in the SW. Leaves large, oval and pointed; basal ones stalkedbut the coarse hairy stem leaves are un-stalked. . The long-stalked bright blue flowers have white scales in the mouth of their petal tubes and hang in clusters.Clusters of bright blue flowers, 2 to 3mm across, appear April to July. Height up to 75cm
