Aka Brown Long-eared Bat


Wingspan to 10 " (25cm) Head and Body 1 3/4 " ( 4.5cm). Weighs 6 to 12 gm.


Very similar in appearance to its close relative the rather larger Grey Long-eared Bat (Plecotus austriacus), a rare species sometimes seen in S. England. Distimguishing between the two long-eared bats species is dufficult .

Hibernates in caves cellars etc from October to end of March
