Length . 14 to 19 mm

Phenology May to June and July to September with a summer diapause.

Identification A large orangey looking caddis characterized by a pale rhomboid shaped area near the centre of the forewing, often with dark patches either side.

Similars Limnephilus marmoratus.

Life Cycle The larvae feed on algae and weed at pond margins.

Habitat Slow flowing weed rich streams, marshes, lake and pond margins.
