Description

Alternate anding - dark and light markings on the legs and connexivum provides a useful identification pointer. The head and pronotum possess a covering of long erect hairs.

Life Cycle Nettle Ground Bug Heterogaster urticae may be very numerous on stinging nettles in late summer.As thecommon name implies, they feed on the stinging nettle Urtica dioica Adults overwinter, emerging and mating in the late spring will congregate in the new foliage to mate where they can remain in copula for days .New generations presents late summer onwards.
