Wing Span: 1 1/4 " ( 32 mm )

The chequerred pattern of Yellow and Cream Spots makes this the most distinctively marked of the Skippers . It became extinct in Britain in 1975 and is a protected species .The planting of coniferous forest and grubbing out of woodland have removed many of the grasses on which this species feeds.

The caterpillar of the Checquerred Skipper is pale green at first and then turns Yellowish Brown with pinkish stripes
