Although it is a member of the blue family it has only a suggestion of blue at the base ofits wing undersides .. It is chocolate brown on its upper surfaces with a band of half moons oat the edge of the wings . The male is very slightly darker and smaller than the female . The underside has a dark background colour covered in apattern of spots . There are two generations of adults each year
