Description

A stocky bird with a short tail; male with upper parts striped brown and white shoulder patch, broad wide suprcilia and white moustache. Under parts Apricot, female duller., flicks its tail.

 

 

 

Where does it live?

Meadows , moorland open countryside with gorse and scrub

What does it eat?

Flying and gound dwelling insects


What does it sound like?

When disturbed a harsh " tk tk " with a soft "diu"

When does it Breed ?

May to July , 5 - 6 eggs, Incubation 12 - 14 days , young fledge in about 13 days, Nests on ground.

In Britain April -Setember
