Description

Small short legged and short biled wader, upper parts olive brown, finely spotted , neck and sides of breasts grey brown sharply contrasting with whiyte underparts, legs greenish . Sexes similar.In flight striking wing bar. Tail olive brown above with white sides

 

Diet

Insects, spiders small crustaceans.

Habitat

Vegetated gravel and banks on migration, ditches and small water bodies concrete and harbour water.

What does it sound like?

 

When does it Breed ?

May to July , 4 eggs, Incubation 20 - 22 days , young able to fly at about 20 days, Nests well hidden on ground.
