Entirely vegetable matter, grasses cereals young leaves , shoots of clover , dandilion. Feeds on land not in water.


Large lakes and fringing vegetation bordered by grazing pasture , reeds and marshes also , gravel pits.

When Does the Grey Lag Breed ?

April to July, 2 - 3 eggs , incubation 28 -29 days, young fledge in 8 weeks . Nests on ground..
