Descriptiom

Shell height of 10-17mm, three rapidly expanding whorls and shallow sutures. The shell is translucent and amber in colour. Body colour is pale grey and translucent. Common in fens, marshes and reed-beds.Succinea putris is parasitised by a flatworm which enters the tentacles Tentacles become swollen, green-white, and pulsate This visibly draws attention to birds which eat the snail, with the flatworm continues its life cycle inside the bird.
